Description
Station accessibility is eased by a series of aids for people with physical or sensorial disabilities:
- trains equipped with safe automatic door opening/closure;
- platform-level floor for wheelchair boarding;
- stair lifts;
- wheelchair available in 14 stations of Metro line A;
- elevators equipped with braille buttons and voice announcer (Italian/English);
- tactile paths and maps for blind and visually impaired passengers;
- information panels for passengers with hearing impairment.
Please note that, as provided by law, all lifting equipment is put out of duty in the absence of Atac station agents. However, in certain stations, elevators frequently used by passengers with disabilities, may be used also in the absence of Atac station personnel, since they are remotely controlled by the Operations Centre.
