Situated inside the foyer of the New Auditorium, the museum overlooks the archaeological site containing the visible remains of the walls of a Roman villa that came to light during the construction work for the New Auditorium. The artefacts found, which include kitchen and religious pottery, are exhibited on transparent shelves suspended inside a large glass panel structure. Wooden models illustrate the various phases that turned the original ancient farmhouse into the Roman villa. A kitchen pantry, bread oven and olive press are displayed to illustrate the activities carried on there at the time. A particular exhibit is the corner eaves tile depicting the bearded head of a river god.
