Description

The fountain was designed by Flavio Morbiducci and built in1929 to decorate the large hemicycle delimited by the ramps that lead to the entrance of the Ministry of Interior. It consisted of a quadrangular basin from which the water drifts into the lower pond flowing along the base. At first the fountain was supposed to be placed in Piazza Mastro Giorgio in Testaccio, butthen the fountain of the Amphorae by P. Lombardi was preferred. Later this fountain was moved to its current location in Piazza dell’Emporio.
